Two species, one finish
The Brentwood house used oak and walnut as two tools rather than two materials. Oak carries the larger, quieter surfaces. Walnut marks the places the eye should stop: the entry, the fireplace and the wall behind the bed. Walking through the house, the darker wood tells you where to look.
Running two species through one home only works if the finish is consistent. Oak and walnut take a finish differently, and a sheen that looks right on one can look wet or chalky on the other. Both were sealed with the same matte system, and the sheen was matched between the two species before anything left the shop.
Every run was cut to the measured wall, not to a standard module, so the panels meet the ceiling and the trim without filler. On a job that crosses several rooms, that is what keeps the house reading as one piece of work instead of a set of separate walls.

Questions
Do you install in Brentwood?
Yes. Brentwood is inside the area our own crew covers. We completed a multi room slat panel project here in October 2024.
Can oak and walnut be used in the same house?
Yes, if the finish is controlled. Both species were sealed with the same matte system and the sheen was matched between them before installation, so the two woods read as one decision.
Can you do several rooms as one job?
Yes. Send the plans and we work out the sequence: which rooms first, what is templated when, and how the veneer is bought so the tone stays consistent from room to room.
Do the panels need filler at the ceiling?
No. Every run is cut to the measured wall after drywall, so panels meet the ceiling and the trim without filler strips.
Who actually does the work?
One shop. We draw it, build it in Chatsworth and install it with our own crew.
