This policy explains what personal information Element Decor collects when you use element-decor.com or work with us, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can do about it.
1. Information we collect
You give us:
- Name, email address, phone number and mailing address.
- Project address, room dimensions, photographs, drawings and CAD files you upload with a quote request.
- Budget range, project timeline and client type, when you tell us on a form.

- Payment information. Card details go directly to our payment processor. We never see or store full card numbers.
We collect automatically:
- IP address, device type, browser, operating system and language.
- Pages viewed, time on page, referring site and search terms that brought you here.
- Cookie and similar identifiers.
We receive from others:
- Order and fraud-screening data from Shopify, which hosts this store.
- Advertising and analytics identifiers from Google and from Meta, where you have not opted out.
- Reviews and messages you send us through Yelp, Houzz, Instagram or Facebook.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
2. Why we use it
- Quoting and fulfilling your project. Preparing estimates, drawings and renderings, ordering material, scheduling installation.
- Payments and accounting. Processing payments, invoicing, tax records.
- Communication. Answering questions, sending order updates, following up on a quote.
- Warranty and service. Locating your project record when you make a claim.
- Site operation and security. Keeping the site running, preventing fraud and abuse.
- Improving what we offer. Understanding which pages and products people actually use.
- Marketing, with your consent. Email about new work, new materials and trade programs. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Legal obligations. Tax, contractor licensing, insurance and record retention requirements.
3. Legal bases
Where required, we rely on: performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interest in running and improving the business, your consent for marketing and non-essential cookies, and compliance with legal obligations.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information for money.
We share it with service providers who need it to do their job for us, under contracts that limit them to that purpose:
- Shopify, which hosts the store and processes orders.
- Payment processors, for card and financing transactions.
- Shipping and freight carriers, for delivery.
- Google Analytics and Google Ads, for site measurement and advertising.
- Meta, for advertising, where you have not opted out.
- Email and CRM providers, for order updates and marketing.
- Call tracking, which records the source of inbound calls and may record calls for quality. Where a call is recorded, you are told at the start of the call.
- Subcontractors and installers, who receive your address and site details for the work only.
- Professional advisers, including our accountant, insurer and counsel.
We also disclose information when the law requires it, to enforce our contracts, and in connection with a merger or sale of the business.
5. Advertising and analytics
We use cookies and pixels from Google and Meta to measure advertising and to show ads for our work to people who have visited this site.
Under California law, sharing information with an advertising network for cross-context behavioral advertising can be treated as "sharing" personal information, even when no money changes hands. You can opt out at any time using the Your Privacy Choices link in the footer, or by emailing us. We also honor Global Privacy Control signals sent by your browser.
6. Cookies
Strictly necessary. Cart, checkout, login and security. The site does not work without them.
Performance and analytics. How pages are used, so we can fix what is not working.
Advertising. Measuring campaigns and showing our work to people who have already visited.
You can refuse non-essential cookies through the banner shown on your first visit, and change your mind at any time through the Your Privacy Choices link. You can also block cookies in your browser, though parts of the site may stop working.
7. How long we keep it
- Quote requests that do not become projects: 24 months.
- Project records, contracts and drawings: 10 years, which covers the California statute of limitations on construction defect claims.
- Accounting and tax records: 7 years.
- Marketing lists: until you unsubscribe, then a suppression record so we do not email you again.
- Server and analytics logs: 26 months or less.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and we hold your information, you may also object to processing and lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
10. Security
We use TLS on the site, restrict internal access to what each person needs, and rely on Shopify's PCI DSS compliant infrastructure for payments.
No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
11. Where your information is held
Our service providers store data in the United States. If you contact us from outside the United States, your information is transferred and processed here.
12. Third party sites
