Element Decor is a family-owned millwork shop in Chatsworth, working since 2014. We make slat walls and ceilings, wall panels, media walls, built-ins and room dividers for Beverly Hills homes, built in our own shop and installed by our own crew.

Two inches of oak, one inch of shadow

On the Beverly Hills walls the slats are 2 inches wide and the gaps are 1 inch, so the shadow line is half the width of the wood. The slats are faced in premium oak veneer and mounted on a backing panel.

Slat proportions are set per project. Width, gap, depth and backing are drawn on the shop drawings and approved before anything is cut, together with where the run starts and stops at corners, doors, outlets and lighting.

Close by, we have built whole home panels and partitions in Bel Air (February 2026), oak and walnut slat panels through a Brentwood home (October 2024) and a slat ceiling with integrated lighting for a clinic in West Hollywood (February 2024).

2 inch slats with a 1 inch gap, in premium oak veneer on a backing panel. Width, gap and depth are set per project, so yours can be narrower, wider or deeper.

Can a slat wall soften the sound in a room?

We add acoustic felt behind the slats where the room needs it. On a curved slat wall for a restaurant dining room the felt backing was there to soften the room.
