Custom Furniture Built to Match Your Wall Panels

Apr 29, 2025
Custom Furniture Built to Match Your Wall Panels

A slat wall in walnut with a store-bought oak console standing in front of it is a common and expensive mistake. Two woods, two tones, two sheens, and the wall you paid for now reads as a mismatch.

So we build the furniture too, in the same shop, from the same veneer batch, with the same finish.

Why it has to be the same shop

Veneer is a batch product. Two suppliers can both sell you white oak and give you noticeably different color. Same supplier, different batch, same problem. Cutting a wall and a cabinet from the same run removes the guesswork.

Sheen shows more than color. A matte wall next to a satin cabinet looks wrong even when the wood matches, because they catch light differently.

Detailing carries over. Slat width, groove spacing, the brass line thickness. Repeat those on a cabinet door and the room reads as one design rather than a wall plus some furniture.

What we build

Storage. Cabinets, wardrobes, shelving, media units, either freestanding or built into the panel run so the doors disappear into the pattern.

Tables and seating. Dining and console tables, desks, benches, banquettes, headboards. All sized to the room instead of to a catalog.

Built-in and modular. Furniture that is part of the wall: a bench that runs out of a slat field, a media wall with the electronics hidden behind removable panels, a headboard that continues into the panelling on both sides.

Where it pays off most

Awkward geometry. Under a stair. Around a chimney breast. A 41 in alcove that no stock cabinet will ever fill without a gap on one side.

Small rooms, where three inches of wasted depth per piece adds up to a walkway.

Media walls, where the cable management, the ventilation and the access panel all have to be planned rather than improvised.

How it runs

Consultation. We look at the room, the panels you already have or are ordering, and what the furniture actually has to do.

Drawings. A 3D visualization of the pieces in the actual room, plus shop drawings, before anything is cut.

Fabrication. Same shop, same veneer batch, same finish schedule as your panels.

Installation. Our own crew, scribed to the walls, levelled and fixed properly.

Pricing and lead time

Fabrication is quoted per project. Installation is quoted separately. Lead time runs 4 to 6 weeks for most pieces, longer for upholstery.

We install across Southern California and ship elsewhere in the US as a labeled, dry-fitted kit with drawings.

Send us photos and dimensions of the room, along with the panel you are looking at, and we will come back with a quote and a 3D preview of both together.

Planning your own project?

Turn the details into a plan for your room.

Send rough dimensions and what you want to build. Our Chatsworth workshop designs and fabricates custom millwork, with installation in Los Angeles and Orange County and shipping across the US.
