Walnut Wall Panels and Room Divider

Walnut panels on the wall and a matching partition standing off it, treated as one piece of work rather than two. The grain runs consistently from the fixed wall into the freestanding element, which only happens if both are cut from the same batch of veneer at the same time.

The partition is finished on both faces because it is seen from both sides. Its fixings disappear into the frame, so from the room it reads as a slab of walnut standing on its own.

  • Species: walnut veneer
  • Detail: grain carried from wall into partition
  • Partition: both faces finished, fixings concealed
  • Source: single veneer batch for tone consistency
