Slat Wall and TV Stand, Huntington Beach
A slat wall in Huntington Beach with a floating TV stand built into it. The stand cantilevers off the wall structure rather than standing on legs, so the floor stays clear and the whole assembly reads as one piece of joinery.
A floating unit puts real load on the wall. Backing was built into the panel structure at the fixing points before the slats went on, so the weight lands on solid material rather than on drywall anchors. Cabling for the television drops inside the wall to the unit below.
