Microcement Triangle Wall Panels

A wall in microcement, faceted into triangles so a flat mineral surface picks up direction and shadow. Microcement gives you the depth and variation of concrete without the weight, and it takes the geometry cleanly because it is applied over a substrate we build first.

The difficulty is the edges. Every triangle meets its neighbours along a line that has to stay crisp through several coats of hand applied material. The substrate was cut on the CNC so the geometry was exact before any microcement went on, and the arrises were worked by hand at the end.

  • Material: microcement over a CNC cut substrate
  • Geometry: faceted triangles, machine accurate
  • Finish: hand applied, sealed for interior use
  • Detail: crisp arrises worked after the final coat

  1. Design

A layout drawn for this room, down to the outlet and the ceiling line.

  2. Fabrication

Cut and finished in our Los Angeles shop on our own machines.

  3. Installation

Fitted by our crew, so the result is built in rather than placed against the wall.
